Stress is a reaction to continuous pressure from responsibility that is difficult to cope with. This pressure may come from various sources like personal and work life.
Work life is a major source of stress. Work commitments and datelines are really pushing office workers to the limit. These office workers will even stay overnight just to deliver their commitments. In some countries like Japan, there are people who committed suicide or died in office because of work related stress. Sometimes, personal life can contribute to stress. Financial constraints, children academic under achievements, sick family members and unfaithful spouse are some of the contributing factors.
Bringing these two major factors together can stress a person to the limit. Some people can manage stress better than the others can. Some can turn stress into something positive for themselves that motivates them to do better to overcome the problem. Some just allowed stress to overcome them and start to show signs of stress.
We can notice some signs of people under stress. Some of the signs are like being easily agitated and get angry. You will know if someone is stress if he suddenly gets agitated over minor issues which on normal days, he would not even notice it.
People under stress usually experience tiredness and exhausted. This sign is visible and can be seen by anyone.
Some will even fall sick due to stress. Some may experience stomachache, gastritis and even headache or migraine. They may even have to consult doctors to treat their stress related ailments. Stress does occupy their mind and thoughts. This may interrupt their sleep and cause frequent insomnia. Lack of sleep will cause drowsiness that may cause road accidents if they drive. Lack of sleep will also cause various health related ailments later on.
When some people are under stress, it can disrupt one’s eating habit. Some will eat less and some will eat more then they would usually do. Not eating their usual meal is bad for health. Looking at some of these signs of stress, most of them are detrimental to one’s health. It would be good for one to seek professional help to manage stress rather than treat its symptoms.
